For you all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. (Gal. 3:26-27)
The Family of God (Chorus only)
I'm so glad I'm a part of the family of God
I've been washed in the fountain, cleansed by His blood!
Joint heirs with Jesus as we travel this sod
for I'm part of the family, the family of God.

Give Thanks
Give thanks with a grateful heart, give thanks to the Holy One

We rejoice in Tammy Smith's decision to put on Christ in the waters of baptism. If there are others who are considering being joined to Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection, please let us know. God bless you, Tammy, as you begin your new life in Christ on your physical birthday!
We appreciate the efforts of many which made last week's VBS a huge success (Directors Myra and Amy, teachers, crew leaders, drivers, cooks, etc). High attendance was over 150, and nearly $400 was raised to help fund the 37-girl orphanage in Haiti. Bible School is over, but let's not forget the power that is available to each of us, helping us to live lives pleasing to God and to Jesus.
The Charter Bus pulled out after midnight this morning en route to Manchester College, IN, home of this year's FUEL. Nearly 50 campers and staff are attending from Guthrie Grove. Individuals from Bethel, North Carolina, and Georgia are also traveling on the bus. We welcome the parents from our sister churches who have stayed to worship with us this morning. Please pray for this all-important week, and for the safe travels of all. Good luck to our quizzers- Jake, Jordan, Cayce, & Rachel. Quiz Coach is Drew McAlister.
"Homecoming Sunday" will kick-off our Annual Special Meetings on Aug 3rd. This is a wonderful opportunity to invite your friends and family to church. Perhaps there are those who, for whatever reason, are not attending regularly. Please make a special effort to let them know they are missed, and to invite them to "come home". (Promo fliers are on the table) A pot-luck luncheon and time of fellowship will follow the morning service. We'll have a larger-than-usual crowd, so please plan accordingly. (Meat and drinks provided) Pastor Scott Ross will speak each evening, Sunday thru Friday, Aug 3-8. Additionally, Scott will conduct "brown bag Bible studies" each day during the lunch hour. There are still 3 spots available to host Scott and Gayle for an evening meal. The sign-up sheet is on the entryway table.
The refreshment schedule for Special Meetings is as follows:
Sun. night: Soup and Cornbread, Ice Cream
Mon. night: Cake, brownies, veggie trays and desserts
Tues. night: Chips, dips, and fruit
Wed. night: Watermelons provided by Thompson Smith
Thurs. night: Sandwiches and chips
Fri. night: Homemade ice cream
...see Mary Ann for more information.
Thanks to Pastor Jim for organizing Friday night's Greenville Drive trip, and to all who participated. It was an enjoyable evening of fun & fellowship.
